G ate fold card made from the August Paper Pumpkin kit
Project Recipe
Use included card base, I chose the one that is all green. Along the long edge score at 2-1/8" from both ends. We are going to ignore the original score line to make this a gate fold. The green side of the card base will be the inside.
Using the bonus gold foil honeycomb sheets included in the kit, I randomly cut out a cluster of the honeycomb caddy corner. Adhere the gold foil frame to the center of the inside of the card and you'll have two wholes in the honeycomb.
Using Basic White cardstock, I stamped three of the sunflower images using the two ink spots that came in the kit (Crushed Curry and Soft Suede), then I fussy cut the sunflowers out and adhered two sunflowers over the two holes in the honeycomb. Be sure to keep glue toward the center of the sunflower so you can add leaves under the outside edge. The third will be used on the front of the card.
Using one of the envelopes in the kit, I trimmed off a sliver of each side in order to unfold and have a larger piece of paper to work with. The flap area has some green leafy colors, stamp 4 leaf images and fussy cut them out and add them with a glue dot or liquid glue appropriately behind the edge of the sunflowers. See image.
Using one of the die cut labels included stamp a sentiment and add to the inside of the card.
Using the outside of the envelop cut out two pieces that nicely coordinate for the card front. Each piece is 2-1/8" x 5-1/2". Adhere to card front.
Take the third sunflower image and add to the card front with Dimensionals.
Stamp the floral twig stamp on the card front behind where you will place the sentiment label from the kit. Stamp sentiment on chosen die cut label and add Blackberry Bliss accent element to the back and then adhere the sentiment label to the card front with Dimensionals.
Decorate the back of the card as desired. I wanted to leave the inside of my card as something pretty to view and add a note to the back of the card. So I used remaining portion of the envelope to cover up the original score line and then used a blending brush and the sunflower stamps to decorate. I went a little overboard.
to hold the gate fold card closed I wrapped some linen thread around the gate fold card and tied with a bow, it is a perfect fit for this kit!
