Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 4" of rows of green squares on dark green design from 2021-2023 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment
- 2-5/8" x 3-1/2" from Pale Papaya Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-3/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3-1/2" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
Insert the large Soft Succulent rectangle vertically into the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder just a little over half way. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine making sure that no cardstock or folder is hanging over the edges of the platform and run through the machine.
Adhere the piece of dark green 2021-2023 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Paper to the bottom of the dry embossed Soft Succulent rectangle where it is smooth.
Cut a 5" piece of the Evening Evergreen 3/8" Chevron Weave Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the dry embossed Soft Succulent/designer paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the two pieces. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Soft Succulent rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Turtle Friends Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the large turtle outline image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the large, vertical white rectangle in the center.
Mount the large patterned shell back image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped turtle image.
Mount the party hat image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the turtle's head.
Mount the small sleepy turtle image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the small strip of white cardstock, don't worry if you don't get the feet and legs..
Mount the small awake turtle image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the small strip of white cardstock, don't worry if you don't get the feet and legs..
Put all the stamped images on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends to color in the big turtle's nails and spaces around the shell pattern on his back.
Use the Light and Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the big turtle.
Use the Dark Pale Papaya and Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the big turtle's party hat.
Use the Dark Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends to color in the shell of the small sleepy turtle.
Use the Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the small sleepy turtle, but don't worry about the legs and feet.
Use the Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the small awake turtle's shell.
Use the Light Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the small awake turtle, but don't worry about the legs and feet.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the small turtles by hand. Cut off their legs and feet.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the cut out small turtles on top of each other on top of the big turtle's back. Slide the top turtle down just a tiny bit.
Mount the small bird image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pale Papaya Ink Pad. Stamp the bird over the top of the top small turtle so when you slide the top small turtle back up, the bird's feet and legs will be partly covered by the top of the top turtle's shell.
Adhere the stamped and colored large white rectangle to the Pale Papaya rectangle.
Adhere the matted, stamped, and colored white rectangle to the front of the card in the center so the top is about 5/8" from the top edge.
Now adhere the small sleepy turtle cut out to the top of the big turtle's shell using Stampin' Seal. Adhere the small awake turtle cut out to the top of the small sleepy turtle using a Mini Stampin' Dimensional so it covers the feet and legs of the small bird image.
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Soft Succulent strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the flatter top) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat with the other end of the strip.
Mount the long, skinny sentiment of choice from the Turtle Friends Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Evening Evergreen Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Soft Succulent strip.
Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the stamped sentiment punch out to the front of the card so it is centered over the bottom of the matted white rectangle just below the big turtle's feet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up three small Evening Evergreen jewels from the sheet of 2021-2023 In Color Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere one of the jewels to the center of the pompom on the party hat and the other two to the ends of the sentiment strip punch out.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Evening Evergreen 3/8" Chevron Weave Ribbon.
Tie a knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card so it overlaps the right or left side of the main image rectangle over the ribbon already on the card.
