Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from cardstock (I used Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, and Pretty Peacock) at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of matching color brushstrokes design from Fresh As A Daisy 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla or Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" from coordinating cardstock (I used Copper Clay, Basic Gray, and Garden Green)
- 1" x 3" from from coordinating cardstock (I used Copper Clay, Basic Gray, and Garden Green)
Pick out the rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 1-7/8" x 3-1/8" from the Deckled Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of the Very Vanilla or Basic White rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Pick out the rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from the Deckled Rectangles Dies. Put it and the smaller rectangle die on top of the large rectangle of coordinating color of cardstock (Copper Clay, Basic Gray, or Garden Green) on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the small die is centered inside the larger die. Run through the machine.
Note: You are using the thin frame of colored cardstock you just created on this project. Keep the solid rectangle cut out to use on another project.
Work on Grid Paper to protect your work surface from ink.
Mount the large spray of leaves image from the Translucent Florals Set on Block E. Ink it up with the coordinating color of ink (I used Wild Wheat, Copper Clay, and Pretty Peacock). Stamp it in the center of the vertical white or vanilla rectangle cut out. Leave the stamp on the block.
Stamp the leaf spray image in the coordinating color of ink onto the horizontal Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper rectangle several times starting from the upper left corner and works across at a rough diagonal down to the lower right corner. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the designer paper. Change the angle of the image every so often. Leave the stamp on the block.
If you are making multiple cards using different colors of ink, be sure to clean the stamp between colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy. If you are making the Wild Wheat version, clean the stamp now before stamping on the rectangle frame cut out.
Stamp the leaf spray image in the coordinating color of ink (I used Copper Clay and Pretty Peacock) onto the thin rectangle frame cut out several times until you've added lines all around the frame. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the angle of the image every so often.
Mount the small, fine stems sprig image from the Translucent Florals Set on Block C. Ink it up with the coordinating color of ink (I used Wild Wheat, Copper Clay, and Pretty Peacock). Stamp it multiple times around the previously stamped leaf spray images on the designer paper as shown. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges and overlaps the leaf sprays. Change the orientation of the stamp each time.
If you are making multiple cards using different colors of ink, be sure to clean the stamp between colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Adhere the stamped designer paper rectangle to the front of the card so the leaves make a rough diagonal across the front from the upper left corner to the lower right corner.
Adhere the stamped white or vanilla rectangle cut out to the right side of the card so it is centered top to bottom and is about 3/4" from the right side.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the stamped, thin frame rectangle cut out to the card front so it frames the vanilla or white rectangle. Make sure the edges line up properly.
Mount the "you're the best " or "congratulations" sentiment from the Translucent Florals Set on Block G. Ink it up with the coordinating color of ink (I used Copper Clay and Pretty Peacock). Stamp it in the center of the thin strip of coordinating color of cardstock (I used Copper Clay, Basic Gray, and Garden Green).
If you are making multiple cards using different colors of ink, be sure to clean the stamp between colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the sentiment by hand so it has a sharp angle on each end as shown.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut some of the border from a sheet of Stampin' Dimensionals. Use it to adhere the sentiment strip cut out to the card front as shown so it overlaps the lower left side of the framed leaf spray.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 5 dots from a sheet of Classic Matte Dots (I used Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, and Basic Black) and making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them randomly to the card front on the left side.
