Q uick and easy birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2" x 3-1/2" of lines of light pink dots on darker orange pink background design from Pansy Petals 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the lines are horizontal on the horizontal rectangle
- 1-3/4" x 4" from Calypso Coral Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2" from Basic White Cardstock
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Balmy Blue Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush over the bottom of the large, vertical white cardstock piece. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Let the color go off the bottom, left, and right edges of the cardstock a little.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the blended white rectangle to the front of the Balmy Blue card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sweet Strawberry Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Sweet Strawberry Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal strip of designer paper near one end. Leave room to punch it out.
Unlock the Everyday Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area and slightly towards the left edge. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment punch out to the front of the card so the bottom is about 3/4" from the bottom edge and the left edge is about 1/2" from the left edge.
Mount the solid strawberry image from the Sweet Strawberry Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the horizontal Calypso Coral strip so the wider part of the berry is on the bottom. Re-ink the stamp with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad and stamp it again on the other end of the horizontal Calypso Coral strip again so the wider part of the berry is on the bottom.
Mount the outline strawberry image from the Sweet Strawberry Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it over the previously stamped solid strawberry images so the edges line up. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Unlock the Strawberry Builder Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide one of the stamped strawberries into the punch and get it centered in the strawberry punching area. Punch. Repeat with the other stamped strawberry. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the outline leaf cap image from the Sweet Strawberry Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the horizontal Pear Pizzazz strip so it is oriented the same way as the coordinating punching area in the Strawberry Builder Punch. Re-ink the stamp with the Old Olive Ink Pad and stamp it again on the Pear Pizzazz strip making sure it is oriented the correct way..Leave a little space between the images so you can punch them out.
Slide one of the stamped leaf cap images into the unlocked Strawberry Builder Punch and get it centered in the leaf cap punching area. Punch. Cut off excess cardstock and then repeat with the other leaf cap image. Leave the punch unlocked.
Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere the leaf cap punch outs to the tops of the punched out strawberries.
Adhere one strawberry with leaf cap to the upper right side of the sentiment punch out at a slight angle using Stampin' Seal. Adhere the other strawberry with leaf cap to the bottom right side of the sentiment punch out at a different angle so it overlaps the first strawberry a bit on the lower left side using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Mount the outline, small, single flower image from the Sweet Strawberry Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the thin, horizontal white strip.
Slide the stamped flower image into the unlocked Strawberry Builder Punch and get it centered in the flower punching area. Punch.
Adhere the punched out flower to the front of the card using a Stampin' Dimensional so it overlaps the bottom right side of the upper strawberry as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small jewel from the sheet of Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the small flower punch out.
