F un Halloween card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Cajun Craze Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 2-3/8" x 4-1/8" of scattered, tiny white dots on dark blue background design from Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 6" of light and dark Cajun Craze lines design from Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper, cut so lines are horizontal
- 3" x 3-1/2" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/2" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-3/8" from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
Insert the front flap of the Cajun Craze card into the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder. Make sure the back flap is on the outside of the folder and folded around to the back side of the folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the piece of Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper to the large black rectangle.
Adhere the matted designer paper to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and about 1/2" from the top of the card.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one end of the strip of Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper into the punch as far as it will go. Punch. Repeat with the other end.
Mount the "trick or treat" sentiment from the Seasonal Chums Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched designer paper strip about 3/4" in from the notch on the left side.
Cut a 5-1/2" piece of Black 1/8" Cord.
Fray the ends of the black cord.
Lay the cord across the center of the punched and stamped designer paper strip on the back side of the strip so the cord sticks out on either side between the notches.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to hold the cord in place.
Remove the protective backings on the Dimensionals and adhere the punched strip of designer paper and cord to the front of the card so it is about 1/2" from the bottom of the card and centered side to side.
Unlock the Cat Punch. Slide the piece of Cajun Craze Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the cat punch out so that the cat will be facing to the left when the cardstock is right side up (cat should be facing right when you put the Dimensionals on).
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals and adhere the cat to the card front so the bottom of the cat overlaps the punched designer paper strip a bit and the cat is about 1-1/8" in from the right side.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the small rectangle of Basic Black Cardstock. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the Basic Black rectangle on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (black facing up).
Pick out the spider web thinlit and the solid bat thinlit from the Seasonal Tags Framelits. Place them both on top of the Basic Black rectangle on the Big Shot. Make sure the thinlits do NOT overlap. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Peel the protective backing off of the bat cut out. Adhere it to the upper left side of the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper at a slight angle.
Place the spider web cut out black side up in an upper corner of some Grid Paper WITHOUT removing the protective backing. The Grid Paper will protect your work surface.
Tip: If you put the cut out in an upper corner of the Grid Paper, then you are less likely to get wet shimmer paint on other cardstock that you don't want it on as you work.
Shake the bottle of Frost White Shimmer Paint while the lid is on tight. Remove the lid and place it on some Grid Paper on your work surface open end up. Poke a Sponge Dauber down into the lid to pick up some of the shimmer paint. Rub the shimmer paint onto the spider web cut out. Get more shimmer paint on the dauber as needed. Put the lid back on the bottle and shake again if necessary.
Peel the protective backing off of the shimmery spider web cut out and adhere it in the upper right corner of the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Paper.
