T his Easter card is a beautiful and fairly simple Religious card for the Holiday. I did this card in my last Class and it was a big hit! Yes, I CASED it, but I forgot where I found it! So props to the Original stamper! (sorry I forgot who you are!) So let's get started!
Project Recipe
For this project you will need:
Very Vanilla cut to 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” and score at 4 1/4”, then fold. Another piece cut at 3 3/4” x 5”.
Rich Razzleberry cut at 4” x 5 1/4”
Also have a scrap piece of each color about 2 1/2” x 3 1/2” for your crosses.
Using the Cross of Hope framelits, Cut out the solid cross on the Rich Razzleberry and the decorative cross in Very Vanilla. Then lightly use Tombow glue to put them together.
Take the Very Vanilla that you cut to 3 3/4” x 5”, and using Crumb Cake ink, stamp Two solid Crosses from the Hold on to Hope stamp set. I tried to line them both up equally from the cut sides and bottom. About 1/8” from the edge of the stamp, which left about 1/4”distance from the edge.
Now get the Old Olive ink out, and the flowery vine stamp also from Hold on to Hope set. Stamp as shown, up the crosses, and then fill in along the bottom how ever you like.
Next I used the sunburst stamp from the Amazing You set and stamped it twice to make a circle in Daffodil Delight, in the middle of the two crosses.
Here’s the tricky part. Center the card inside the Pretty Paislys embossing folder, use a post it note or a bit of washi tape to hold it in place, then run it through the Big Shot.
I then used A dauber and Old Olive ink along the vines at the bottom lightly to give the card a bit more depth.
Use Stampin dementionals on the back of the cross, and place it between the stamped crosses and slightly elevated, with the sunburst behind it. At this stage you can also put a small flower in the center of the cross and a pearl to embellish it. I used a small flower from the Blooming Hearts thinlits, but you can use anything there.
Stamp a Happy Easter sentiment on a piece of Very Vanilla, measuring about 3/4” x 3”, in Rich Razzleberry ink. Cut the ends to make a banner. Tip: find the middle and make a small cut, then trim from the corner in to the point of the cut to make an even triangle. Now use a dauber and the Rich Razzleberry ink along the edges.
Use Stampin dimentionals again so the banner stands out. Make sure to slightly off set them on the back so it goes over the cross nicely.
Center the stamped piece, on the Rich Razzleberry card stock, and that on the card base.
Stamp vines on the flap of the envelope if you like too, for that extra touch.
