I t's that time of the year again...Graduation! With so many students about to have their commencement ceremonies, I'm sure you have some family or friends who are about to get their diplomas! Here is a quick and easy Gift Card that you can make in minutes!
Project Recipe
This card I made so fast, and you can too! I try to make cards with items I have left over, paired with some new and returing items...mostly because our new 2018 Catalog will be launching on June 1st! (yes that was me squeeling in delight! lol)
So let's start with Whisper White Narrow Note Cards(which come with Envelopes) or you can cut card stock 5" x 41/2" and score Horizontally down the 5" legnth at 2 1/2".
Cut a Basic Black square 1 3/4" x 1 3/4"
With the Celebrate You thinlits, and our new color- Bluberry Bushel cardstock, use the Big Shot to cut out "celebrate" with the die. Also cut out a 2 1/2" square and cut it diagonally from corner to corner so you have a Triangle.
Fold the card and burnish with your bone folder. Now make a small pencil mark at the center point of the top which is 1 1/4", then measure down 1 1/4" on both sides from the top. Using those marks as guidlines, trim off the 2 top corners of the card.
Making sure that the card fold is on the left, take the black square you cut out and adhere it to the top of the card. It should line up perfectly. Next take the Washi tape and put it along the bottom, and trim off the sides. Now glue the Celebrate diagonally along the card, bottom left to top right.
Now we will make the pocket on the inside for cash or gift cards. Take the triangle and put washi tape along the front long side and trim the edges. Flip it overand on the back side, along the 2 short sides, put a strip of 1/8" Tear tape(If you dont have it, you can always put a 1/8" bit of tape on the card and trim off the edge to use for the other side.) Pull off the tape backing and place the triangle in the bottom Left hand corner as shown. Make sure you do not put tape on the diagonal side so you can slip the money in.
I used Mini Tassels, but you could just as easily make your tassles with Bakers Twine. I put one Mini Dimensional in the center of the black "Cap", placed the tassel ring over that, and added another mini Dimensional on top of the first one. then I placed a medium sized Clear Facited Gem on top of that, finishing the cap.
I stamped the sentiment(from the March 2016 Pocketful of Cheer Paper Pumpkin set) that says Hooray Grad on it, above the washi tape on the right bottom. Put matching Washi tape on the envelope to give it a little extra flair and thats it!
I made 8 of these cards in various colors in about an hour, using what ever washi tape matched. This way I have most of the local High School's colors covered, since we have several locally.
Happy Stamping!
