Barn Door Stampin' Up! |
|
A STampin' Up! card made using the Barn Door Stamp Set and the Open Door Framelits
|
|
|
Cut two pieces of Cajun Craze card stock 4.25 x 5.5
Emboss one piece with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions embossing folder.
Use Snail Adhesive to attach the embossed piece to the one that is not
Cut Whisper White card stock 4.25 x 5.5, stamp two door images with Smokey Slate
Use the rectangle die from the Sliding Door Framelits to cut out both doors.
Cut one door in half vertically
Cut 6 door hinges and three door handles from Basic Black card stock
Use LIquid glue to attach them to the door pieces as seen on the card photo. I lined the end of the hinge up with the vertical line on the door
Set aside to let dry.
Cut Whisper White 3.25 x 4 3/8. This is the piece that will go behind the doors.
Lay this piece in place, do not tape it down yet,
With this piece in place close the "bottom" door and put a light pencil mark on the white piece. This will help you know where the top portion and bottom portion separate so you can stamp your images correctly.
Once the center is marked, stamp the Panda Party panda with Basic Black ink so that the panda is behind the lower door and the ballon will be behind the upper door.
Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment with Basic Black Ink
The "confetti" is a stamp from Sprinkles of Life stamp set , stamped in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight
The balloon is colored in with Real Red marker and a shading of white using the Stampin' White Chalk Pen
To attach the doors to the card front use liquid glue on the hinge part, align it with the left and right edges of the inside art piece. Hold them until they are well adhered. Do this with both top doors and bottom door.
Attach the door handles with liquid glue.
Color the epoxy shapes smallest round with Dark Pumpkin Blends pen and attach one to each hole in the door hinges
Once the hinges are dry, fold the doors open so the fold falls right at the edge of the door.
I made this card a flat card so to get it to stand I cut out an easel back from Whisper White Thick card stock and attached it to the back of the card with Liquid Glue.
Center the easel on the card back so that when it lays flat against the back of the card the easel portion doesn't protude past the edge of the card. This way the card will still fit in a standard A2 envelopr.
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the easel back. If you would like a template for this to use with your electronic cutter. Message me for the file.
