C lassic Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Real Red Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4" of green, red, and brown plaid on white background design from Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper
- 2-5/8" x 4-1/8" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 4" square from Early Espresso Cardstock
- 1" x 4-1/2" from Old Olive Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper to the bottom of the Real Red rectangle.
Place the white rectangle into the Woodland Embossing Folder so the tree trunks are vertical. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Make sure that the embossing folder does NOT hang over the edge of the platform or it will catch on the sides of the Big Shot and damage the folder and/or Big Shot. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the large Old Olive rectangle.
Adhere the matted white, dry embossed rectangle to the Real Red/designer paper rectangle at a slight angle so the upper right corner almost touches the top edge of the red cardstock and the upper left corner almost touches the left edge of the red cardstock.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide the strip of Old Olive Cardstock into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Mount the word "Merry" from the Merry Christmas To All Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the punched Old Olive strip about 3/8" from the straight edge (notch on the right side) in the center of the strip.
Adhere the punched sentiment strip to the cardstock/designer paper rectangle so the notch is centered over the line between the designer paper and red cardstock and is on the right with the tips almost touching the right side of the cardstock/designer paper layers. If needed, use Paper Snips to trim off excess cardstock on the left side.
Adhere the designer paper/cardstock layer to the front of the Old Olive card.
Pick out the solid, leaping deer thinlit from the Detailed Deer Thinlits. Place the Early Espresso square on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the leaping deer thinlit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Place the deer cut out on some Grid Paper on your work surface.
Shake the bottle of Frost White Shimmer Paint while the lid is on tight. Remove the lid and place it on some Grid Paper on your work surface open end up. Poke a Sponge Dauber down into the lid to pick up some of the shimmer paint. Rub the shimmer paint onto the antlers only of the deer cut out. Get more shimmer paint on the dauber as needed. Put the lid back on the bottle and shake again if necessary.
Adhere the deer cut out with shimmery antlers to the front of the card so it overlaps the punched sentiment banner and the right side of the dry embossed white rectangle.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to put three small dots of glue in the upper right corner of the red layer on the card front in a small triangle.
Use the sticky putty end of the Take Your Pick tool to pick up three different sized iridescent sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment and adhere them to the dots of glue.
Tip: Pull straight up to remove the cap on the end of the Take Your Pick tool putty end. If the putty is no longer tacky, snip it off the end of the tool and give the base of the putty dispenser a twist to dispense more putty.
