C hristmas card made with Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, foil sheets, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Granny Apple Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" from Melon Mambo Cardstock
- 2 squares each 1-5/8" square of rows of skinny, pointy Christmas lights on strings on white background design of Merry Bold & Bright 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-5/8" square of rows of fat, rounded-end Christmas lights on strings on white background design of Merry Bold & Bright 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/4" x 2" of Melon Mambo foil from Melon Mambo & Granny Apple Green 12" x 12" Foil Sheets
- 1" square from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Melon Mambo Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush across the bottom 1/2" of the horizontal white rectangle on the left side to create a rough circle. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
As you are ready to stamp using the Merry & Bright Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Oh, what fun!" sentiment from the Merry & Bright Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom right side of the horizontal white layer so it overlaps the blended Melon Mambo circle just a bit.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the three squares of Merry Bold & Bright Designer Paper on the strip of Melon Mambo to figure out spacing. Make sure the two squares with the skinny, pointy-end bulbs are on the right and left edges.
Once happy with the spacing, adhere the squares in place one at a time.
Adhere the Melon Mambo strip with designer paper squares on top to the top of the stamped and blended white rectangle so there is about 1/8" of white along the top edge. The left and right edges will be even.
Adhere the stamped and blended white rectangle with Melon Mambo/designer paper strip attached to the front of the Granny Apple Green card.
Pick out one of the large, rounded bulb dies from the Merry & Bright Dies. Put it on top of the Melon Mambo foil rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Pick out one of the solid with lines bulb base dies from the Merry & Bright Dies. Put it on top of the small Granny Apple Green square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the bulb base cut out to the top of the base of the foil bulb cut out.
Adhere the assembled light bulb to the front of the card so it is centered over the blended Melon Mambo circle at a slight angle as shown. The bulb base should overlap the bottom of the Melon Mambo/designer paper squares strip.
Cut a 2-1/2" piece of the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the card front so it overlaps the loop at the top of the bulb as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a Melon Mambo, a white, and a Granny Apple Green gem from the sheet of Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown.
