M asculine birthday card made with Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Soft Succulent Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Sahara Sand Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" of tiny campers, tents, campfires, and trees on green background design from He's The Man 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut so the images are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/4" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/8" square from Adhesive Sheets
- 3/4" x 2-3/4" from Soft Succulent Cardstock
Adhere the strip of He's The Man Designer Paper to the bottom of the horizontal Sahara Sand rectangle.
Cut a 5-3/4" piece of the Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
Lay the piece of ribbon across the Sahara Sand/designer Paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the two pieces. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ends of the ribbon in place with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Sahara Sand rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Soft Succulent card.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets square. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets square to one side of the Very Vanilla square. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the circular mountain scene die from the Rugged Icons Dies. Put it on top of the vanilla square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the vanilla side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Lay the circular mountain scene cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Make sure the vanilla side is face up and the protective backing is still in place on the back.
Use the brush tips of the Stampin' Write Markers to color the different areas of the die cut out:
- use Soft Suede to color the mountains and tree trunks
- use Pumpkin Pie to color the sun
- use Soft Succulent to color the tops of the trees
- use Starry Sky to color the edges of the river
- use Evening Evergreen to color the edges of the circle
Remove the protective backing from the colored scene die cut out and adhere it to the front of the card so the bottom edge just goes under the top of the ribbon and the left side is about 5/8" from the left side of the card.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Soft Succulent strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the small, rounded scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the sentiment from the Inspired Thoughts Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Soft Succulent strip so the punched end is on the right side and is about 3/8" from the end of the sentiment.
Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the sentiment punch out strip to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon and the left, flat edge of the strip is near the bottom right side of the circular scene cut out.
Use the Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends to color the top of one of the trees icons on the sheet of Enamel Sticker Icons. Allow to dry for a minute or two.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to peel up the colored enamel sticker and adhere it to the front of the card as shown so it covers the left, flat edge of the sentiment punch out strip.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to peel up the one large and two small dots from the sheet of Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots and adhere them in a straight, evenly spaced line in the upper right corner of the card front so the large dot is in the center.
Cut a 3" piece of the Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card as shown at a slight angle just to the left of the enamel sticker.
