Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from scattered tiny white flowers on red background design from Bee Mine 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 5" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square from Petal Pink Cardstock
Unlock the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide one short edge of the long Petal Pink strip into the punch and get it centered side to side in the punching area but so you'll punch off the bottom edge of the strip leaving a notch. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
As you are ready to stamp using the Ice Cream Swirl Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the strawberry image from the Ice Cream Swirl Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the punched Petal Pink strip making sure the punched edge is at the bottom. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the orientation of the stamp a little each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock strip.
Mount the cherry image from the Ice Cream Swirl Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the stamped and punched Petal Pink strip making sure the punched edge is at the bottom filling in the empty spaces a bit. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the orientation of the stamp a little each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock strip. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the cherry image on Block A with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Petal Pink square.
Pick out the matching cherry die from the Ice Cream Swirl Dies. Put it on top of the stamped cherry image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Place the cherry cut out and the stamped, punched strip on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color in most of the strawberry bases.
Use the Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the strawberry bases and the cherry bases.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the strawberry leaves and the cherry stems.
Cut a 2-1/2" piece of the Sweet Sorbet 1/4" Bordered Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the top of the punched, stamped, and colored Petal Pink strip so it is about 1/2" from the top. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Petal Pink strip. Adhere the strip to the vertical Bee Mine Designer Paper rectangle so it is about 3/8" from the left edge and the punched bottom is about 7/8" from the bottom edge. If needed, use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess cardstock along the top edge.
Adhere the designer paper with punched strip attached to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Cut a 3" piece of the Sweet Sorbet 1/4" Bordered Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front. Tie in place with a half knot so it is about 1/2" from the right edge of the Petal Pink strip as shown. Trim the ends.
Mount the "hope your day is sweet" sentiment from the Ice Cream Swirl Set on Block C. Use the side of the brush tip of the Sweet Sorbet Stampin' Write Marker to color only the words "hope your day is." Use the side of the brush tip of the Poppy Parade Stampin' Write Marker to color on the word "sweet." Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the sentiment in the center of one end of the horizontal white strip leaving room to punch it out.
Hold the unlocked Heartfelt Hexagon punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Poppy Parade Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edges of the sentiment punch out.
Adhere the sentiment punch out to the front of the card so the top is tucked under the knot of ribbon and it overlaps the right edge of the Petal Pink strip.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the colored cherry cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the lower right side of the sentiment punch out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 large and 3 small red flowers from a sheet of Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
