P layful birthday card made with Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cajun Craze Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of tiny yellow dots all over white background design from Delightfully Eclectic 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2 pieces each 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3-1/2" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 6-1/4" from Pecan Pie Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" square from Basic White Cardstock
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the 3/4" x 3-1/2" Crushed Curry strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the inward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Hey Chuck Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Crushed Curry strip so it is closer to the notch with the notch on the left side.
Adhere the stamped sentiment banner to the upper right corner of the horizontal Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper rectangle so it is about 1/4" from the top. Cut off excess cardstock on the right edge.
Pick out the long, solid die with lines across it from the Beautiful Balloons Dies. Put it on top of one of the Old Olive strips on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is close to one long edge. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other Old Olive strip.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut the die cut Old Olive strips along one long edge to make them fringe. Cut one in a long arc and the other with waves.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the arced fringe strip to the bottom of the designer paper rectangle so the top of the fringe is about 1" from the bottom. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess cardstock on the left, right, and bottom edges as needed.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the wavy fringe strip to the bottom of the designer paper rectangle so the top of the fringe overlaps the bottom of the previously adhered fringe strip a bit. Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off any excess cardstock on the left, right, and bottom edges as needed.
Adhere the designer paper rectangle with sentiment strip and fringed strips attached to the center of the 4" x 5-1/4" Crushed Curry rectangle and then to the front of the Cajun Craze card.
Mount the fence posts image from the Hey Chuck Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pecan Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it three times across the horizontal Pecan Pie strip. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Leave a little space between each image so you can cut them out.
Pick out the matching fence posts die from the Hey Chuck Dies. Put it on top of one of the fence posts images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other two fence posts images.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen along the backs of the bottoms of the fence posts cut outs to adhere them to the front of the card as shown. Tuck the bottoms behind some of the fringed grass. Interlock the ends of the cut outs.
Tip: Try not to get adhesive along the tops of the fence posts cut outs so that you can easily tuck the chicken and sunburst cut outs behind the top of the fence in later steps.
Pick out the solid, half sunburst die from the Hey Chuck Dies. Put it on top of the 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" Crushed Curry rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed.
Adhere the sunburst cut out to the right side of the card front so it is tucked behind the top of the fence a bit as shown.
Mount the fat rooster image from the Hey Chuck Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the large white rectangle.
Mount the birthday cake image from the Hey Chuck Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small white square.
Pick out the matching fat rooster die and matching cake die from the Hey Chuck Dies. Put them on top of the images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Run through the machine.
Place the fat rooster and cake cut outs on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color in the rooster's head, neck, and tail feathers.
Use the Light Cajun Craze Stampin' Blend to color in the cake and to outline the feathers on the rooster's body.
Use the Light and Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the rooster's body.
Use the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends to color in the rooster's wattle and eyelids. Leave his eyes uncolored. Also use it to color in the candle.
Use the Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends to color in the icing on the cake.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the rooster's beak, feet, and legs and to color in the flame and rays of light for the candle.
Adhere the colored rooster cut out to the front of the card as shown so the feet are tucked under the top of the fence posts on the left side of the card.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored cake cut out to the front of the card as shown so it looks like the rooster is holding it up with his wing.
