Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Garden Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 2-1/8" x 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pebbled Path Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of green leaves and white daisies with yellow centers on light brown background design from Fresh As A Daisy 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" from Pebbled Path Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 5-1/8" of green leaves and white daisies with yellow centers on light brown background design from Fresh As A Daisy 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/4" x 6" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4" from Pebbled Path Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4" from Copper Clay Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Lemon Lolly Cardstock
Fold the Fresh Freesia card in half. Fold the score line at the 2-1/8" mark on the front so it is a valley fold.
Adhere the small strip of Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper to the 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" Pebbled Path strip. Then, adhere it to the small front flap on the left side of the card.
Adhere the large rectangle of Fresh As A Daisy Designer Paper to the 4" x 5-1/4" Pebbled Path rectangle. Then, adhere it to the inside of the card.
Unlock the Decorative Circle Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the white strip into the punch and get it centered on one end. Make sure to leave room to punch a second circle. Punch. Slide the cardstock over and get it centered again. Punch again so you have two decorative circle punch outs.
As you are ready to stamp using the Happy Hedgehogs Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
IMPORTANT: place both circle punch outs on the Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat so they are lined up the same way!
Mount the "it's so nice of you to be so nice" sentiment from the Happy Hedgehogs Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one of the circle punch outs.
Mount the small tuft of grass image from the Happy Hedgehogs Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it repeatedly across the bottom 1/3" of the other circle punch out. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images overlap and let some of them go off the bottom, left, and right edges of the punch out.
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Granny Apple Green Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush across the bottom 1/3" of the grass stamped circle punch out so it covers all the stamped grass. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Use the same Small Blending Brush with Granny Apple Green Ink on it to lightly rub ink onto the edges of the sentiment stamped circle punch out.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Rub a different Small Blending Brush across the open Balmy Blue Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush across the top 2/3" of the grass stamped circle punch out so it covers the rest of the punch out.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the sentiment stamped and sponged circle punch out to the center of the designer paper on the inside of the card so it is about 1" from the top and right edges. It will be slightly closer to the left side.
Use Tear & Tape Strips vertically down the back of the left side of the grass stamped and sponged circle punch out to adhere it to the right side of the front flap of the card only. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the right edge of the flap or your card won't open. Line the circle punch out up so it covers the circle punch out on the inside of the card completely.
Mount the larger hedgehog image from the Happy Hedgehogs Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pebbled Path Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the vertical Pebbled Path strip so the nose is pointing down. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Re-ink the larger hedgehog image on Block C with the Copper Clay Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the vertical Copper Clay strip so the nose is pointing down.
Unlock the Hedgehog Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped larger hedgehog on the Pebbled Path strip into the punch and get it centered in the whole hedgehog punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Holding the unlocked Hedgehog Builder Punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped hedgehog on the Copper Clay strip into the punch and get the back of the hedgie centered in the top punching area to punch out only his back. Punch.
Adhere the full hedgehog punch out to the stamped and sponged circle punch out on the front of the card so his feet overlap the grass a bit and he is centered side to side.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the Copper Clay top of the hedgie back punch out to the top of the Pebbled Path hedgie punch out.
Mount the small butterfly image from the Happy Hedgehogs Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Copper Clay Ink Pad. Stamp it two times on the Lemon Lolly strip leaving room to cut the images out and remembering to re-ink the stamp each time.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out both butterfly images by hand. You can just cut off the antennae if desired.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere one of the butterfly cut outs to the front flap of the card on the left side of the circle punch out as shown.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the other butterfly cut out to the top of the sentiment circle punch out on the inside of the card as shown.
