Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Daffodil Delight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of different birds on white background design from Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper
- 2-3/8" x 2-5/8" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/2" from Old Olive Cardstock
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper to the front of the Daffodil Delight Card.
Cut a 12" piece of Crushed Curry 3/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with angled ends.
Fold the ribbon into thirds. Lay the folded ribbon on the top of the card front at an angle. Use a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the ribbon in place.
Mount the single bird image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it on the white rectangle in the center near the top edge.
Put the bird stamped rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring the bird image with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light and Dark Pool Party Markers to color in the bird's tail and feathers/back.
Use the Light and Dark Old Olive Markers to color in part of the bird's belly right under the wing.
Use the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Markers to color in the rest of the bird's belly, throat, and head.
Use the Light Crumb Cake Marker to color in the bird's beak.
Use the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Markers to color in the dirt under the bird's feet.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Free As A Bird Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle under the colored bird's feet.
Adhere the stamped and colored white rectangle to the Pool Party rectangle.
Unlock the Leaf Punch. Slide in the Old Olive strip and punch.
Lay the matted bird image upside down in front of you. Adhere the leaf punch out to the back of the Pool Party rectangle so it is sticking out from the lower left corner.
Tip: When you turn the matted bird image right side up, the leaf punch out should be sticking out from the lower right corner.
Remove the protective backing from the ribbon on the front of the card and add SNAIL to the back of the matted bird rectangle. Adhere the matted bird rectangle to the card front so it is centered over the ribbon and about 3/4" from the top.
Mount the small flower image from the Free As A Bird Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp on the scrap of white cardstock.
Put the stamped flower image on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Color the flower image with the Light and Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends Markers.
Cut out the colored flower image by hand using Paper Snips.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the cut out flower image to the card front in the lower right corner of the matted bird image.
