P retty card with lots of metallic accents using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and foil sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Basic White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" of Copper 12" x 12" Foil Sheets
- 2" x 5-1/4" of white floral groupings on shiny copper background design from Splendid Day 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3/4" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the strip of Splendid Day Designer Paper to the center of the Copper Foil strip. The top and bottom edges will be even.
Cut a 3" piece of the Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin-Edged Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the matted designer paper piece about 1" from the bottom. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ends of the ribbon in place with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the matted designer paper as needed. Adhere to the left side of the vertical 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle so it is about 1/2" from the left edge. The top and bottom edges should be even.
Adhere the cardstock/matted designer paper rectangle to the front of the Basic White Thick card.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin white strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the small, rounded scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat with the other end of the white strip.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the punched white strip.
As you are ready to stamp using the Framed Florets Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "just a little reminder that you are loved" sentiment from the Framed Florets Set on Clear Block G. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched white strip.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some copper powder from the Metallics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the entire stamped sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Lightly drag one punched edge of the heat embossed sentiment strip across the open VersaMark Ink Pad. Sprinkle some copper powder on the edge. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later. Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth). Repeat with the other end of the heat embossed sentiment strip.
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the heat embossed sentiment strip to the front of the card so it is centered over the matted designer paper strip and is just above the bottom gold and vanilla stripes on the ribbon as shown.
Pick out a trinket from the Open Leaf Trinkets. Use Mini Glue Dots to adhere it to the front of the card as shown so the base of trinket is tucked under the upper right corner of the sentiment strip.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin-Edged Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the lower left side of the sentiment strip as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large copper dot from the sheet of Brushed Metallic Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the upper right corner of the card front.
