I sat down this morning to design a thank you card to send my customers in November; I wanted to use Vintage Leaves and send an autumn-themed card, and I fell back on my favorite fall color combo: Tangerine Tango, Soft Sky, and Crushed Curry.
Project Recipe
I started with a Tangerine Tango card base (5-1/2" x 4-1/4"), then added the Whisper White panel (5-1/4" x 4").
I punched the Soft Sky circle using the 2" Circle Punch. The intricate stamped image on top of that is a stamp from the Merriest Wishes stamp set. This set is so versatile -- you can do much more than make Christmas cards and tags with it. I used my Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, and Tangerine Tango markers to color the stamp. I first colored big areas with Tangerine Tango, then filled in the rest with Crushed Curry. I wiped off the ink in spots with my finger (because lazy) and filled in those spots with Soft Sky. Then I huffed on the stamp to reactivate the ink and stamped on Whisper White. I punched that out with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch.
I did the leaf the same way, except no Soft Sky. Just kind of randomly put in the Tangerine and the Curry.
I put the ornamental circle up on Dimensionals, added Gold Metallic Thread and Gold Sequin Trim behind the leaf, and put the leaf on Dimensionals.
The sentiment is from the One Big Meaning stamp set. I love this set, it has so many great thank-yous. This particular stamp says "Thank You for everything and more", but my customers might find that a little creepy, so I covered the "for everything and more" with washi before inking the stamp in Tangerine Tango. After inking the stamp, I removed the washi, then stamped. That part is very important, because if you don't remove the washi, you stamp giant ink blobs on your card.
My card front was done until I noticed I had a smudge in the top right corner... and that's why there is a second leaf! It's just to cover a smudge, but I love, love, love what it added to the card.
I stamped the ornamental circle from Merriest Wishes again on a panel of Whisper White and added that to the inside of the card.
