F un Christmas cards using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Pool Party Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
Place the largest rectangle of Whisper White into the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder so that the embossed snowflake will be in the upper right corner and going off the edge of the cardstock along the top just a bit. Place the folder with the card stock inside on top of a Cutting Pad on your Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place another Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed white rectangle to the rectangle of Cherry Cobbler and then to the front of the Pool Party card.
Adhere a small Clear Faceted Gem to the center of the dry embossed snowflake.
Mount the sweater image of your choice from the Christmas Sweaters Set on either Block C or Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the 2-1/2" square of white cardstock. Set aside to let dry.
Mount the "Enjoy the Warmth of the Season" sentiment from the Hearts Come Home Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the strip of white cardstock.
Pick out the smooth oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out a 2-1/2" long oval. Place the stamped sentiment on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the smooth oval framelit on top so it is centered over the sentiment. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the scalloped oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out a 2-5/8" long scalloped oval. Place the Pool Party rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped oval framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the white sentiment oval to the center of the scalloped oval.
Adhere the matted sentiment oval to the front of the card so it covers the bottom half of the snowflake on the right side.
Place the stamped sweater image on Grid Paper to protect your work surface since Stampin' Blends Markers bleed through the cardstock.
Use the Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the sweater image. The ink from the Stampin' Blends Markers needs to be wet for easier blending, so you need to work on small areas at a time. Use the Color Lifter Marker if needed to remove excess ink, but remember you will be cutting out the sweater by hand so stray marks outside the sweater can just be cut off.
For the Christmas icons button up sweater, I used all the colors of markers listed except the Ivory and Crumb Cake ones.
For the snowflake sweater, I used only the Pool Party and Cherry Cobbler colors.
For the Christmas lights sweater, I used both Pool Party Markers and the dark versions of Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive.
For the cookies and candy sweater, I used all the colors of markers except for the Ivory.
For the Santa sweater, I used the Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler, and Ivory Markers. I added some tiny dots of light Cherry Cobbler to Santa's cheeks before coloring over them with the Ivory Marker to give him rosy cheeks.
Cut out the sweater by hand using Paper Snips.
Adhere the sweater to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals so the sweater is at a slight angle to the left of the matted sentiment ovals and overlaps the left edge of the ovals a tiny bit.
