D o you ever have a small gift and need a special box to put it in? If so, this one is for you!
Project Recipe
You will need 1 sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" of Mint Macaron Cardstock - cut this sheet in 1/2 - cut 1 of the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits from each half.
You will have enough Mint Macaron Cardstock left over to cut out 1 of the largest butterflies from the Butterfly Thinlits - use Paper Snips to cut down the centre of the butterfly.
You will also have enough Mint Macaron Cardstock to emboss a butterfly from the Papillion Potpourri Stamp Set. To emboss, stamp the butterfly image with Versamark Ink, sprinkle Silver Embossing Powder over the Versamark Ink and heat with the Heat Tool until it's melted. Punch this butterfly out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch (retiring on May 31/17). Use Paper Snips to cut down the centre of the butterfly.
For contrasting butterflies, use the framelit from the Butterfly Thinlits to cut 1 from Very Vanilla Cardstock. Use Paper Snips to cut down the centre of the butterfly.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to join the 2 Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits that were cut from Mint Macaron.
Before folding on the score lines to make the box, stamp your choice of butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set on the outside with Mint Macaron Classic Ink. When you use the same colour of ink as the cardstock, you get a softer image - for this project, I really like it this way!
Before folding on the score lines to make the box, use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach each half of each butterfly near the slit on the side of the box that will be brought up last. When the box is closed, it will appear as though the butterflies are whole again!
Fold on the score lines, use the Bone Folder to help curl each side and fold all side up to create the box.
