Project Recipe
Using Sweet Sorbet card stock, cut a card base at 8 1/2" X 5 1/2". Score at 2 1/8" and then at 4 1/4". Now fold the card so it makes a Z shape and burnish your edges with a bone folder.
Cut little Bee DSP 4" X 5 1/4", and adhere, centered, to the large panel of your card base.
Cut the little heart DSP 1 7/8" X5 1/4" and adhere it, centered, on the front panel.
Using the Stylish Shapes square dies, cut a Daffodil Delight square using the largest square die. Also using the large die, cut a Petal Pink square of the same size. Now use the next smaller die and cut a white square. Set aside.
Time for the Bees!!! Using Daffodil Delight ink, stamp the oval body for the bee. Next, using black memento ink stamp the stinger and stripes. This is not as hard as it may seem. How I did it was I lined up the stinger with the body I stamped and the stripes lined up perfectly.
Now take your vellum and using the Staz on black ink, stamp your wings and set them aside to dry.
**This step needs to be done with the Staz on or it won't dry on the vellum. However, the Staz-on will stain your photopolymer stamp. You can punch out the big heart and use that as wings if you prefer not to stain your stamps.
Using multipurpose glue, adhere the wings to the body of the bee, use wink of stella on the inside of the wings, and set aside to dry.
Now to the tricky part...lining up the diamond (Square) shapes for the pop-out card. The first thing to do is stamp the little bee trails using petal pink ink.
Now we are going to score the triangle at 1 1/4". As you can see from my picture, I was able to align my points on my paper trimmers lines so that I knew my triangle was straight.
Line up the center points of your triangle along the fold line from the top panel.
Add multipurpose glue to the back of the triangle. Make sure it's lined up, and stick it to the card base.
**The reason I say to use the multipurpose glue is because it gives you a little wiggle room to move the piece around.
Pick up the petal pink triangle. You are going to add the multipurpose glue only to the left side (smaller side) of the triangle.
Lay the petal pink triangle on top of the daffodill delight and white triangles, glue side up.
Then press the top panel down onto the petal pink triangle and hold until it adheres.
Now it's time to adhere the bees. the bee that I put on the petal pink triangle is flat, and then the bee that is on the front panel has pop-up dots under it.
Die cut your tag using the stylish shapes dies. Stamp your sentiment and adhere it partially onto the front panel, and part of it hanging off for dimension.
Stamp your sentiment on the inside white diamond. You can also add some hearts like I did by punching them out with the bee builder punch. Also, add your bow using the sweet sorbet bordered ribbon.
