H ello and welcome back! I have been checking out so many new stamp sets and I kid you not, every week I have a new favorite!!! I am in LOVE with the Abstract Impressions set! It is crazy versitile, and just lovely! Even more so when you add the Springtime Impressions Thinlet Dies! Today's card started out as something totally different, and ended up as something I really liked. So here we go! check it out!
Project Recipe
This is a fun card to make, its simple, and I love stamping to make a colorful background on the base card.
For this card you will need: Whisper White Note cards. (or 7" x 5" card stock, score at 3 1/2, fold and burnish with your bone folder.
2" x 3" Whisper white paper
4 1/4" x 5 1/2 piece of Vellum.
Start out by taking the Springtime Impressions Thinlets Dies, and take out the one with all the flowers as shown. Using the Vellum, run it through your Big shot. Taking the piece you cut out, trim off the ends on the long side as shown in the image, following the curves of the roses neatly, and set it all aside.
Time to Stamp! Use the 2 little flower stamps shown here. First take the one on the left, and the Pineapple Punch ink. This we will use the "stamp off" technique, which means you ink the stamp, and on a scrap paper you lightly stamp off some color, before actually stamping on your card. This gives you a lighter impression, so stamp off, stamp on! (LOL a little Karate Kid type joke there!) Randomly stamp all over the card 6 or 7 times. Now repeat with Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, & Powder Pink as shown. Next, take the stamp on the right, and with the same colors, stamp directly on top of the flowers of the same color. This time DO NOT stamp off! Dont worry about lining anything up, its supposed to be abstract!
Lastly, use the single oval leaf and stamp with Soft Seafoam in between the flowers here and their. Reference the photo to see how some white is left in the center.
Now use the small bit of Whisper White, punch out a lable with the Pretty Lable Punch. Stamp Thank You in the Balmy Blue in the center, and using a Sponge Dauber, go along the edges for a little color and definition along the edge.
Wrap the Gold Metallic Thread around your fingers about 8 times.
Hold the thread together on one side and use a glue dot on the back of the punched out sentiment. Press the thread on the card and fan it out a bit so you get swirls of thread as shown. When you have it as you like, add 3 Stampin' Deminsionals to the back.
Place a couple Glue Dots in the center of the white area of the card and put the vellum piece we cut out earlier in the center as shown.
Follow that up by placing the sentiment in the center. Add a couple of little pearls on top of the Vellum, and you have a beautiful finished Thank you Card!

Until next week...Happy Stampin'
