P retty birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Mint Macaron Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" of assorted flowers and leaves on light green background design from Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Mint Macaron Cardstock
Mount the large bouquet of flowers image from the Ornate Style Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Mint Macaron Pad. Stamp it horizontally across the top of the vertical Mint Macaron card so some of the image goes off the top edge. Re-ink the stamp with the Mint Macaron Pad and stamp the edges of the top of the card front as needed. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub and/or Simply Shammy, but leave the stamp on the block.
Adhere the rectangle of Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Paper to the bottom of the stamped Mint Macaron card front so it is about 1/2" from the bottom and overlaps some of the stamped images along the top of the card.
Mount the "birthday wishes" or "welcome" sentiment from the Butterfly Wishes Set on Block B. Ink it up with Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the left end of the Mint Macaron strip leaving room to cut it out with the die.
Pick out the long, skinny, stitched, straight-edged rectangle die from the Ornate Layers Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered top to bottom in the rectangle and is near the left edge. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sentiment rectangle strip to the front of the card so the right edge goes off the right edge of the card and the left edge is about 1/2" from left edge of the card and the bottom edge is about 1/2" from the bottom edge of the designer paper. Use Paper Snips to cut off excess cardstock on the right edge.
Pick out the detailed, floral rectangle die from the Ornate Layers Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 2" x 3-3/8". Put it on top of the small white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Adhere the detailed, floral rectangle cut out to the front of the card vertically so it overlaps the top left side of the sentiment rectangle cut out a bit, is about 3/8" from the left edge of the card and is about 1/2" from the top edge of the card.
Ink up the large bouquet of flowers image on Block E using the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining large white rectangle.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped white rectangle on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark and Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends and the Light Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color in the upper chrysanthemum.
Use the Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends and the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to add a small amount of light pink to the petals of the lower chrysanthemum.
Use the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends to color in the center of the light pink chrysanthemum.
Use the Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends to color in the centers of the small flowers. Leave the rest of the small flowers white.
Use the Dark and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the petals of the daisies.
Use the Dark and Light Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the centers of the daisies.
Use the Dark and Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves and stems.
Use the Light Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends to color in any remaining white space.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the colored bouquet of flowers by hand.
Adhere the colored flower bouquet cut out to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown.
Cut a 10" piece of the Terracotta Tile ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow to the card front at a slight angle so it overlaps the bottom right side of the flower bouquet cut out.
