Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Mossy Meadow Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" of mottled green background from World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Adhere the piece of World Of Good Specialty Designer Paper to the large Very Vanilla rectangle.
Cut a 12" piece of Mossy Meadow 3/16" Braided Linen Trim.
Fold the trim in half. Lay the folded trim across the designer paper/vanilla cardstock so it is about 1-1/4" from the bottom. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the trim over. Adhere the ends of the trim in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the vanilla rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Mossy Meadow card.
Mount the single magnolia bud image from the Good Morning Magnolia Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp once on Grid Paper. WITHOUT RE-INKING, stamp it again on one end of the remaining vanilla strip in the center. Leave room to punch it out.
Unlock the 2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped magnolia bud into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch. Keep both pieces of cardstock.
Mount the "thanks" or "hello" sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining end of the vanilla strip, leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch. You will punch off part of the "thanks" sentiment on either side.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped magnolia bud circle punch out on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves, stem, and flower bracket.
Use the Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends and the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to add a small amount of light pink to the petals of the magnolia bud.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to remove any excess color..
Adhere the colored magnolia bud circle punch out to the front of the card so the stem points towards the bottom left corner and the right edge of the circle is about 3/4" from the right edge of the card and the bottom of the circle just tucks under the trim on the card front.
Pick out a hoop from the Gold Hoops Embellishments. Use a couple of squished Mini Glue Dots along the bottom of the hoop to adhere it to the card front so it encircles the magnolia bud circle punch out. Make sure the Mini Glue Dots are covered by the trim on the card front or will be covered by the sentiment circle punch out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment circle punch out to the card front so it overlaps the trim and the lower left side of the magnolia bud circle punch out and gold hoop.
Cut a 7" piece of the Mossy Meadow 3/16" Braided Linen Trim.
Fold the trim in half. Feed one end of the folded trim under the trim already on the card front just to the right of the sentiment circle punch out. Tie in place with a half knot. Fray the ends of the trim and trim off excess.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large dot from a sheet of Gold Glitter Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the front of the card in the angle formed between the two circle punch outs on the upper left side.
