P retty note card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Bumblebee Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/2" of multicolored, closely packed variety of flowers from Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/4" x 3-1.2" from Bumblebee Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
Insert the large Old Olive rectangle into the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder. Make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Unlock the Banner Triple Punch. Slide one short edge of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Paper strip into the punch as far as it will go. Punch.
Cut a 3" piece of the Terracotta Tile ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack.
Lay the ribbon across the top of the punched designer paper banner about 1/2" from the top. Flip the punched designer paper banner over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Adhere the punched strip of designer paper with ribbon attached to the left side of the vertical dry embossed Old Olive rectangle so the points of the notched end almost touch the bottom and the left edge of the designer paper is about 3/8" from the left edge of the rectangle. Trim off excess designer paper along the top edge with Paper Snips if needed.
Adhere the Old Olive layer with designer paper and ribbon attached to the front of the Bumblebee card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Butterfly Gala Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "hello beautiful," "the good things in life are better with you," or "a little note" sentiment from the Butterfly Gala Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one end of the strip of Old Olive, leaving room to punch it out.
Unlock the Timeless Label Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment punch out about to the front of the card about 1/2" below the ribbon on the punched designer paper banner so it is centered side to side over the designer paper.
To make it easier to stamp the big and little butterflies separately, use Paper Snips to carefully cut a set of the butterflies from the Butterfly Gala Set apart.
If you don't want to cut your stamps apart, then you can just carefully ink up only the butterfly you want to stamp by pressing only it to the ink pad, but it is much easier if you cut them apart!
Mount the large butterfly you cut loose image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on end of the Bumblebee strip.
Unlock the Butterfly Duet Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the large stamped butterfly image into the punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the larger, solid butterfly body image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the large, stamped butterfly punch out.
Tip: I find it easier to line up the body for the butterfly if I punch the image out first.
Mount the small butterfly you cut loose image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other end of the Bumblebee strip.
Slide the stamped small butterfly image into the unlocked, upside down Butterfly Duet Punch and get it centered in the corresponding punching area. Punch.
Mount the smaller, solid butterfly body image from the Butterfly Gala Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Early Espresso Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the small, stamped butterfly punch out.
Tip: I find it easier to line up the body for the butterfly if I punch the image out first.
Use the Terracotta Tile Marker to color in some of the areas on the wings of the punched out butterflies.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the large, colored butterfly punch out to the front of the card at a slight angle so it overlaps the upper right side of the sentiment punch out as shown.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the small, colored butterfly punch out to the front of the card at a slight angle so it overlaps the lower left side of the sentiment punch out as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Terracotta Tile ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack.
Slide one end of the ribbon piece under the ribbon already on the card front on the left side. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large dot from a sheet of Gold Glitter Enamel Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the front of the card in the lower right corner.
